SICET 2024

The Faculty of Engineering at SLIIT organized the 3rd SLIIT International Conference on Engineering and Technology (SICET 2024), which was held on the 24th and 25th of July 2024, both at the SLIIT premises and online in a hybrid format. As the third conference in the series, SICET 2024 expanded its focus areas to include Engineering, Technology, Quantity Surveying, Computer Science, Information Technology, Applied Sciences, and Statistics. While the research areas remained consistent with SICET 2023, the conference aimed to engage a broader research community and increase physical participation.

There were 125 full paper submissions across all tracks, and among those, 50 papers were selected for the conference proceedings, resulting in a 40% acceptance rate. Six pre-conference workshops were conducted, namely: Environmental Life Cycle Assessment of Buildings Using Building–SAT; Approach to Wind Power Project Design; Dealing with Construction Insurance; Critical Infrastructure Security – Applying Cybersecurity to Operational Technology; Solutions for a Climate-Neutral Built Environment; and Fundamentals of Flow and Transportation in Porous and Fractured Media – Applications in Water, Environmental, and Civil Engineering Systems.
